Bump is an iOS app that lets users “bump” their devices together to share photos, contact information, appointments, or other data. This week the company released a new version which adds support for music sharing.

All you have to do is fire up the Bump application on your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad and pick the item you want to share. Have your friend open Bump on their device, and then tap your hands together gently (or just bring your phones close together) and your data should be transferred.

Bump is available as a free download (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/bump/id305479724?mt=8#&partnerId=30&siteID=JkW7rNrREF8-ZOUloE4XceB0azrBIfM2ew) from the App Store. It supports iOS 3.0 and up, but requires iOS 4 for some features such as sharing calendar events.

There’s also a version of Bump for Android (http://www.appbrain.com/app/bump/com.bumptech.bumpga), but it doesn’t support music sharing yet.
