For a while now, people have questioned whether multi-network chat app Trillian was worth its pricetag. With the company's latest update, there's a better chance users will say "yes."

The big addition is that chats in Trillian are now shared in realtime across all your devices -- similar to how Google Talk and Skype have handled chats for some time. The difference, of course, is that Trillian works with a number of different instant messaging networks. Start a chat on your smartphone, sit down at your desk and pick up exactly where you left off. All messages you've read show read on your desktop when you make the switch -- and the same is true for your phone when you go mobile again.

Trillian handles all the heavy lifting, so regardless of whether you're marked away or offline on one device you're immediately back in sync once you activate Trillian again. If you're a true multi-network chatter, the new update definitely makes Trillian worth investigating.
