A number of the most popular destinations in the world is ordered to censor themselves of all material which is considered offensive to Indians by February 2012. The list of online services include such giants as Microsoft, Facebook, YouTube, Google, and 20 more – they will all objectionable content be removed. It is considering the fact that a number of online scandals that hit the country recently all the photos of women kissing men.
According to press reports, more than 20 social networking services, including the most popular around the world, was sued by the Indian court, under the objectionable material. The sites are currently charged with Article 292 (which is the sale of obscene books), section 293 (which is the sale of obscene objects young person), and even 120-B (which is a criminal conspiracy) of IPC.
Apparently the court following a complaint made to the court by some private citizens going online and discovered that the web does not meet an Indian ideal of a moral society. In the case of such sites offensive material to wipe their sites by February 2012, they would be charged with contempt of court.
In a statement the court said that the judge was deeply shocked by what has been presented in evidence to the court. He ruled that unknown individuals to sell, publicly display and distribution of obscene, lascivious material, also to the prurient interests appear and tended to the people who can read, see or hear, to destroy and corrupt. He added that it was also clear that such material is always open and freely available to anyone using the above mentioned network, regardless of their age – indeed, even minor ones have a full and uncensored access to such an obscene material.
As a result, all the familiar names will either censor the web or the lucrative Indian market left online. When facing such a choice of companies is probably the first option. Meanwhile, industry experts believe that many businesses supporting local politicians will not find it because the Indian government is furious known that its citizens are able to go online and bad things about the Gandhi family said.
