Windows Tiny7 Unattended Activated CD (x86)
Very interesting build, based on Windows 7 Ultimate x86 build 6.1.7600.16385 RTM from eXPerience, fit on a normal CD. Very fast and unpretentious to the resources. The default setting in English, takes 10-15 min., Then you can add any keyboard and language pack.
Only a clean installation, upgrade feature removed, is already activated.
This installation still includes, but is not limited to:

- Fax Support
- Internet Explorer 8
- Modem Support
- Most Languages (only Chinese, Japanese and Korean are removed)
- Printer Support
- Smart Card Support
- Windows Sounds
- Windows Update

Desktop eXPerience Folder
Most of these folders contain quick solutions to things that otherwise would be buried away in the Windows GUI, or you would have to know the command to run the item, like "control userpasswords2" will open the screen to change your Windows 7 login password, or "intl.cpl" runs the "Regional and Language Options" from Control Panel.

Quick Launch Enabler
On the desktop is a tool that can enable Quick Launch in just one click. You should run this ONCE only, if you want Quick Launch like on XP/Vista.
If the program doesn't make Quick Launch the first time, just remove the Quick Launch toolbar and run the enabler again.

Special note from eXPerience:
I have used this modded OS for a few days and it seems every bit as fast
as Windows XP. If you have always wanted to use Vista, but were holding
out for Windows 7 - its worth it! This slimmed edition boots up fast,
shuts down fast, opens applications fast, even VMware v5.5 runs fast
on it once its started up. File copying seems no slower than XP. All
in all this new Windows really blows away XP because of all the new
features. You have to remember XP is from 2001 when no one even had
such a thing as "Wireless" or a SATA drive. Now all this new hardware
runs on Windows XP but the OS was never designed to run it really.
You might wonder why not just use Vista - don't even go there. Lets
just pretend Vista never existed. In fact Microsoft should have not
ever released it but I guess they had to in order to improve on it
and eventually get it right - with Windows 7.

I have been running Windows Tiny7 for approximately 4 hours now, and find it quite capable of doing most things, however there are things I miss but then again this is extra lite version. I would not give up the full versions I have on my other computers, but this will run on older light weight systems. I save the Windows XP Pro disk so when the time comes all I need to is plug it back in...good to go!
I am running this on an AMD XP 2100 1.73 Gh.z/512MB DDR-266 RAM/GeForce FX5700 256MB which is an older machine used for testing purposes only. I have included a snapshot of the task manager.
I installed Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) and it passed validation with a breeze, also I loaded Malwarebytes v 1.40 to round out the security. Media Player had been stripped out to lessen the load, so I installed Gom Player v 2.1.18 which I think is about the best going. It is from South Korea and weights in at 5.75 MB, and it comes loaded with codecs. It natively plays DVD's, MP4's, FLV's without even a hickup, and everything else I have thrown at it.

a. Does this act like a Live CD? I mean, not to install and go straight to Windows environment from the CD?
b. If it is to install a cut down version of Windows, then, later, through PROGRAMS AND FEATURES in CONTROL PANEL, and with a full Windows 7 DVD, will I be able to to install the missing features like IIS?

There is no upgrade option available in Tiny7, because the option is removed.

I have 2 questions;

a. This is NOT a Live CD, it needs to be installed. Installation is best done on a computer with only one HDD installed and NOT in a Dual Boot configuration
b. There is NO upgrade option to this version of Windows 7. The features that are not installed with this version are not present on this disk that is why it is 699MB. The full version all the features are there just turned off until a different Key is installed and that Key turns on the features purchased with that particular Key.

I have just managed to get this version onto my EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE PC 701. This is brilliant considering all previous attempts failed due to its tiny 4GB SSD HDD.
There were two items that needed a driver one was the VGA the other is unknow but device details seem to say its ACPI so thats my next call.
It has left me with just over 1GB of space so I can get a few bits that I need on this installed. This machine only gets used when I'm away and need internet access and reading email so I don't need a great deal on it. I'll let you know how it holds up when I've used it for a bit.

although i am not a newsgroup user, i looked around and only saw torrents and rapidshare and a couple warez sites. if you use newsgroups on a regular basis you might search them and if there post a link or two.

Great find i just installed this on an old P4 2.20ghz 512mb with a 20gig hard drive runs like a dream ,even useing an older graphics card it still looks good.Great way to breath new life into an older or light weight pc..

Some people have problems with activating their version of Windows Tiny7.
So I did a test install on my Acer notebook after I did already the install on my Asus notebook it got GENUINE/ ACTIVATED though at the Acer it wouldn't activate!.
What to do?:
Download this filehttp://www.mediafire.com/file/5ihmdd0yvmu/w7lxe
and run it as Administrator by rightclicking the file.
You go to get a popup and get 4 choices, DON'T do anything! the proggy is going to pick the right way to activate Tiny7 just wait 30 seconds! after that it says: REBOOT and again 30 seconds, don't do anything!! all goes on autopilot!
After the reboot you'll see that your copy has been activated.
Go to >startbutton >>all programs >>accessories >>command prompt it has to say: C:\Users\Administrator> type in cd.. and enter, it has to say: C:\Users> type in cd.. and hit enter again, now it says C:\> TYPE IN: cd windows it brings you to c:\Windows> type cd system32 and hit again enter it says now C:\Windows\System32> NOW THE LAST THING TO DO IS TO TYPE: slmgr.vbs -xpr (or /xpr) You will see a little pop-up saying: The Machine is permanently activated.

Anyone found a way to install a scanner in Tiny Windows. My HP all-in-one fails the installation unless I uncheck the the scanner drivers.
I have tried this with all 3 of my HP all in one of different models.

INSTALLING
To install Windows Tiny7 from this CD, set your PC
up so it will boot from the CD-ROM in the PC's BIOS.
There is no upgrade option available in Tiny7, because the option
is removed.
Only install Tiny7 onto a freshly formatted partition or hard disk.
You do not need any product key in this release - the installation
of Tiny7 is unattended, apart from in the very beginning where you
choose which drive or partition to install to.
All installations are set to US English. If you do not want the US
keyboard settings, you will have to change this in Windows when it
has installed (as opposed to choosing it at install time), its easy
enough, just open the "Keyboard Settings" folder in the desktop
eXPerience folder and read the included ReadMe.txt that is there.

Special note from eXPerience:
I have used this modded OS for a few days and it seems every bit as fast
as Windows XP. If you have always wanted to use Vista, but were holding
out for Windows 7 - its worth it! This slimmed edition boots up fast,
shuts down fast, opens applications fast, even VMware v5.5 runs fast
on it once its started up. File copying seems no slower than XP. All
in all this new Windows really blows away XP because of all the new
features. You have to remember XP is from 2001 when no one even had
such a thing as "Wireless" or a SATA drive. Now all this new hardware
runs on Windows XP but the OS was never designed to run it really.
You might wonder why not just use Vista - don't even go there. Lets
just pretend Vista never existed. In fact Microsoft should have not
ever released it but I guess they had to in order to improve on it
and eventually get it right - with Windows 7.

I installed this on a clean partition on my laptops (HP DV9700t/4GB/Nvidia G-force512MB) second hard drive, and from start to restart 9 minutes. After assigning an IP address, changing the workgroup to my domain, after restarting and running Windows Update all drivers were found and installed including the Fingerprint Reader.
