Title: Help with BCDEDIT
Post by: Snuffy on August 05, 2009, 08:25:51 PM
I have a minor problem now with Win7 Ultimate.
mostly it is due to my MOBO, and the ability to via BIOS change to any HDD and have the BIOS Boot to it.
Nice but I have used this mobo Win98ME -Beta test "Whister" -> install XP Corp --> beta test Windows Vista -->
Vista upto SP2 and beta test Win7.  Now it is 100% Windows 7.
I have had lots of assistance on remedy the many different BCDEdit problems, some were fixed with DISKPART.
I'm still left with:
Quote
Windows Boot Manager
--------------------
identifier              {bootmgr}
device                  unknown  (would like to see partition=C:
description             Windows Boot Manager
locale                  en-US
inherit                 {globalsettings}
default                 {current}
resumeobject            {7800cce8-7c49-11de-bc70-801ac4a4f209}
displayorder            {current}
toolsdisplayorder       {memdiag}
timeout                 5

Windows Boot Loader
-------------------
identifier              {current}
device                  partition=C:
path                    \Windows\system32\winload.exe
description             Windows 7
locale                  en-US
inherit                 {bootloadersettings}
recoveryenabled         Yes
osdevice                partition=C:
systemroot              \Windows
resumeobject            {7800cce8-7c49-11de-bc70-801ac4a4f209}
nx                      OptIn

Have most of this fixed. The fake CD was due to having UltraIso installed, the latest upgrade, set a Non requested ISO.CD VDevice.
removed it an the FAKE CD went.  Still have the {bootmgr} unknown.
Boot from 1 HDD is back to normal. so Its all OK now.
