Title: WINDOWS 8 "MAXIMUM MODERN UI"
Post by: thenanoguy on March 12, 2013, 09:38:04 PM
I hope I don't break any rules here by linking to my own work, but it is NOT for commercial purposes. I have been working 5 hours a day for a week to redesign the icons in the Windows 8 Desktop. And I kind of want your feedback, too. It is not a concept, but it is in my opinion an alpha stage work. 263 modified icons.

If you like it, please share with your friends as I am in desperate need of feedback.

I have attached a few previews. I have almost finished alpha stage work on all Explorer Ribbon icons, and will post a preview when done.

As long as this stays NOT FOR PROFIT it does not violate any Forum Rules and Regulations.  However if there is ever any intention to Distribute for Sale it then becomes an Ad and will be considered in violation and necessary action will be taken.

I do NOT intend to commercialize it. I simply want to make a modification of the icons. To "metrofy" them all so that the whole Desktop looks more like the Modern UI, well, at least the icons, that is. I really think Windows Blue should bring new aesthetics for the desktop, otherwise it will look weird in combination with the Modern UI. Also, I think an integration of the Desktop Explorer with the ModernUI similar to what Stardock is doing with ModernMix , but taken the other way around, would make things a bit more cohesive in Windows 8.(for example the ability to switch between metro and desktop apps in the same interface, running desktop apps in kind of a fullscreen mode with auto-hide menus like internet explorer 10 etc.)
