Windows 8.1 is now available for all the Windows 8 users (http://www.windows8newsinfo.com/smf/index.php?topic=24509.0) and can be downloaded right now from Store. The upgrade process will keep each and everything from files, apps and settings.

If you are one of the people who want to install Windows 8.1 for free and still keep your files, apps and settings then, you are at right place. Just follow the instructions below to upgrade to Windows 8.1 for free.
 
Instructions:
 
 • First of all, go to Store and you will see the Windows 8.1 app spotlight.
 
 • Star downloading the update by pressing the download button.
 
 • Your Windows 8.1 will start downloading. You will be able to see the download process in Store under the installs section.

 • Once the download has been completed, your PC will be checked for compatibility.
 
 • Once your PC is checked, you would be asked to restart your PC and the Windows 8.1 will installing.
 
 • Your PC will restart a couple of times during the installation and once done, you would be taken to your Windows 8.1 where all your apps, files and settings will be there.
 
 • That’s all! You have successfully upgraded to Windows 8.1 for free.
 
Note:
Your Windows 8.1 will not be activated if your Windows 8 wasn’t activated.
