One quick question.
After downloading the Windows 7 7048 build, and I burn it onto a DVD. Is there an option to upgrade from build 7000 to build 7048?
Or do I have to do a fresh install?
-
You should be able to upgrade from build 7000 as long as you have the 64 bit version of build 7000 installed. If you are upgrading you shouldn't even need to burn the download to a dvd, normally you can just click and run the setup.exe file and it should be able to start the upgrade or install process from within windows without ever needing to burn it to a dvd and boot from that dvd.
hope this helps you some,

Ok thanks mate. Yes, I have the 64 bit version installed. Thats awesome thanks =D
-
sceadwe is right, but the upgrading is slower than a clean install, BUT upgrading will keep all you settings, files and programs.

If you do an upgrade install from Win7 7000 x64 (which I have installed) to build 7048 x64, how do you activate the new install?
-
you should be able to use the same beta key's to activate 7048, that worked for me
-
What's build 7048 like performance wise? Better or the same as build 7000?
-
I personally have found that the performance in 7048 is noticeably better than that of build 7000, and there are several bug fixes as well.
-
Got build 7048 nicely up and running now. Looking good. Seems to be running a bit better than build 7000 also. Like some of the little changes already.
-
Just upgraded to 7048 from 7000 straight though I may have to reinstall my Eset because of some quirks...
somehow I can't activate it ???
heres the screenie
