Speeding up the shutdown speed of your computer is a very useful thing, especially since it can be done without much trouble by following these few simple steps.
Step 1. Go to Start->Run and then type in regedit
Step 2. In the regedit window go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l, and modify its value to 1000
Step 3. Go to HKEY_USERNAME\Control Panel\Desktop and set WaitToKillAppTimeout and HungAppTimeout to 1000.
Step 4 (optional). If you want to speed up the shutdown for all users, go to KEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Desktop and set WaitToKillAppTimeout and HungAppTimeout to 1000.
Restart your computer and you should notice a great speed improvement next time you will shut down your computer.
