No one lives forever. Certainly not early builds of operating systems. Microsoft released the Windows 10 Technical Preview earlier today, and it is now available for users to download.
Available for users to download and install on their systems.
Although it is nowhere near feature complete, or a true indication of what Windows 10 will look like upon release, but it does provide early adopters, technology enthusiasts and (more importantly) developers a peek at the direction Redmond is heading.
And as with previous test versions of its operating system, Microsoft has set an expiration date on Windows 10 Technical Preview.
This is what the release notes say about this:
“If you’re running Technical Preview, we’ll send you notifications beginning on April 1, 2015 to remind you that it’s time to upgrade your PC to a newer version.”
Fair enough. And very generous too!
Although Microsoft will continually update this Technical Preview, and it will also be superseded by a Consumer Preview release early next year, it does tie into the six month public test phase that the software titan is said to be planning.
The full retail version of Windows 10 should be here sometimes in the middle of 2015.
