The software titan seems to have taken care of an annoying little issue that had been bugging gamers. The Windows 10 Steam crashing issues are, according to reports, no more.

Good riddance to bad garbage.

You can read about the problem here, but it apparently affected the latest official test version of Windows 10 that Microsoft released to Windows Insiders — build 9879. The bug caused the Steam app to crash all of a sudden, often into a gaming session.

Infuriating does not even begins to define it.

And since a fair fraction of users deployed these preview version of the upcoming OS, this kind of became a widespread glitch, with a number of users bringing it to notice via official channels.

Anyway, the cause of the problem has been found, according to Gabriel Aul (http://twitter.com/GabeAul/status/546827965024063488).

The fix has been implemented in a new build, meaning everyone can hope to play games as they should be played once the new version of Windows 10 rolls out, sometimes next month. Fingers crossed, they make their way out sooner rather than later.

For the time being, Redmond has confirmed that the hotfix for steamservice.exe has been implemented in the fbl_awesome builds, which are actually more reliable versions aimed at consumers.
