With the new Windows 10 January Preview comes many new features and enhancements. Some of those new features aren't exactly ready for primetime, however the code to get them working is present within the build. Microsoft appears to be working on a brand new user-interface for the tray clock, which matches the other modern elements of the operating system.
To enable his new tray clock UI, you're going to have to mess with the registry a bit. If you're not comfortable with that, we suggest you back out now. Rather obviously, there's a reason this isn't enabled by default so do tread with caution.
◾ Right click on the Start Button, select "Run"
◾ Type "regedit" and hit enter
◾ Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>Software>Microsoft>Windows>CurrentVersion>ImmersiveShell
◾ Create a new DWORD (32-bit) value, call it "UseWin32TrayClockExperience"
And that's all there is to it. Simply click on the tray clock at the bottom right hand side of the taskbar, and you'll have the brand new user interface.
