Ever so quietly, Microsoft has made available Windows 10 for Phones to the slow channel, and the preview version can now be downloaded on all compatible devices.

This follows the official release of this first ever build of the mobile operating system on the Windows Insider program on February 12 — but back then, only those devices that were enrolled on the fast ring received the bits.

Now, though, devices that are registered for the slow ring have access to the preview.

Gabriel Aul confirmed this on Twitter, explaining that while there is no major difference between both builds, the one being shipped to user on the slow channel probably includes a number of bug fixes that makes it more stable.

Users have been continually reporting any issue they encounter with this first version.

Microsoft is yet to detail any of the fixes that are part of this slow ring release, but at least it should run a bit better on supported devices, which currently are Lumia 630, 730 and 830. Perfect for people that don’t want to be dealing with critical bugs and such problems.

And what of the next build of Windows 10 for Phones?

Redmond is yet to provide any new intelligence on the matter, but the company is expected to release the next build to the fast ring users in early March. Provided it sticks to its monthly schedule.
