Stating the obvious, again, but we have confirmation that the leaked Windows 10 build 10036 is not going to be the one released to Windows Insiders in the coming days.
This was a partner build that made its way to the web, unofficially, last week.
However, it comes laced with a number of bugs and issues — the Start Menu not working correctly, apps like People, Mail and Calendar not opening, and other such stability problems. No wonder only a few deployed this version.
Having said that, it did offer a glimpse at several new features that Microsoft have lined up.
Anyway, the company is probably preparing a newer version for users that have signed up for the Windows Insider program, with plans to release it soon.
This is what Gabriel Aul had to say, when asked:

The important question here is whether the version that is officially released comes with the same, or improved, feature set that is part of build 10036.
It has more or less been two months since we have had a true preview release. And even the last version that came out, build 9926 was essentially the January Technical Preview, something that Microsoft had been working on over the holiday break.
Perfect time for a delightful surprise, don’t you guys think?
