Surface Pro 3
Microsoft only recently unleashed the Surface 3, but rumors about the Surface Pro 4 have been swirling since the start of this year. And now we have another report on the matter.
One that claims that this premium new slate is targeted for an October release.
The speculation, if true, will mean that the company will miss the Back-to-School season with this time frame, but then again, it will provide Redmond with a chance to release the new tablet by the time Windows 10 is ready for prime time.
Important, as the Surface Pro 4 will, in all estimates, be powered by the new operating system.
Then again, there are calls that Windows 10 will hit RTM status in June and if the new OS is ready available to end users in August, that still leaves a two months gap between the October date. Another thing that merits a mention is the array of new devices that other vendors release this year.
Windows 10 devices from companies like Dell, Lenovo, Toshiba, HP and others.
And although not strictly aimed at students or teachers, the Surface Pro 4 could get a nice boost in sales during the Back-to-School season, and it seems rather odd Microsoft will miss out on it.
We’ll just have to wait and see what happens here, then.
