Title: This Windows 10 Concept Makes An Iconic Statement
Post by: javajolt on April 18, 2015, 05:59:24 PM
Using the word figuratively here, as this new Windows 10 concept tries to showcase just how tabs and icons can be utilized in Microsoft’s upcoming operating system.

And in many ways it succeeds.

Designed by dejesushn, this new imagining tries to make icons in Windows 10 a bit more visually appealing (though not as much colorful as what Redmond currently offers in preview builds), while retaining the flat look that the company seems to be going for.

Here, take a look:

The built-in file manager, File Explorer, is further improved with support for tabs, and the whole design up to seems to have that Office look — from the productivity suite, that is.

Capital letters and all.

However, the tab bar is placed at the bottom of the program, which makes it rather out of place from traditional implementations of this feature in other software like web browsers and file managers. Unique, but ultimately a little counterintuitive.

It does go in with some new designs for the icons. And with recent suggestions that Microsoft plans on redesigning the default icons in Windows 10, this is as good a time as any to make the company take notice.
