The first refresh of Microsoft’s upcoming operating system, Windows 10 Update 1, is now on track for launch in late 2015, according to the latest batch of rumors.
And word is that the company has started initial development work on that.
Windows 10 itself is expected to be here sometimes this summer, and the software titan is currently hard at work finalizing this new version. But it is also eye for a release of the first update to Windows 10, in order to deliver some extra features and options.
According to WZor (http://twitter.com/WZorNET), the fairly reliable Russian leaker, Windows 10 Update 1 or Windows 10 Autumn Update could see daylight in October 2015 — provided all goes to plan.
Surprising as it may sound, this bit of intelligence still comes via unofficial and unnamed sources, so take it at face value for the time being.
It is worth a mention that this new update could be one of two things.
Either it might only bring along small improvements, bug fixes and performance enhancements based on feedback from users, or it could be a bit more high-profile release that adds new features to Windows 10. Features that Microsoft probably delayed to make way for the summer launch.
In any case, more information should be with us soon from other sources, if there’s some truth to this matter. Until then, let’s classify this report as a rumor.
