Microsoft Corp has released support of its Windows 10 Preview for Raspberry Pi 2, a small credit card sized computer to help you integrate into the Internet of Things phenomenon Microsoft has made its smart move into the Internet of Things (IoT) phenomenon by releasing Windows 10, designed and optimized Raspberry Pi 2, which will have Arduino-certified boards. The company has developed a Windows 10 IoT Core Insider developer preview, which will work with the Raspberry Pi 2 to help developers and customers make their own devices. While the preview is now on the Raspberry Pi 2, it also supports Intel’s MinnowBoard MAX and Hackster.io.

Raspberry Pi is a low cost, credit-card sized computer that users can plug into a TV or a standard monitor. The motherboard has a HDMI port, a SD card holder, a LAN port, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi capabilities with USB ports, which can be used for a wireless keyboard and mouse. This device can be used by amateurs who want to learn basic coding while making their own machines. The programming is basic and most of the instructions are easy to follow. For example, it can be programmed as a wireless timer for a washing machine, which can enable you to remotely turn it on or off or perform other functions with it.

A blog post (http://blogs.windows.com/buildingapps/2015/04/29/microsoft-brings-windows-10-to-makers/) by Microsoft was released where it mentioned Windows 10 facts and the possibility of connecting it with the IoT technology to make people’s home technology smarter. The blog added that developers can now download the Windows 10 IoT Core Insider Preview with support for the company’s latest operating system (OS), Windows 10. This new preview is a toned-down version of Windows 10 for devices, which consume less power and have a small footprint. It will be available for “free” for developers and customers.

Microsoft has been working on partnerships for quite a while as it gears up for the launch of its much awaited Windows 10 OS. Moreover, the company mentions about its partnership with Arduino, making it world’s first Arduino-certified OS. This partnership will be offering the availability of Windows Remote Arduino and Windows Virtual Shield for Arduino, both of these features have been released and function as open source libraries.

The blog post stated that the company wants builders and makers to embrace new technology and have the ability to create small machines that can be used in the IoT phenomenon. Moreover, the company is aware of the fact that it is missing some drivers and the device is a bit rough around the edges, and to make it a better-working device, the company wants people to sign up and send it feedback.

Microsoft is making a major shift towards getting Windows in almost every home. The launch of Windows 10 is expected to hit billions of computers around the world. It seems that under the umbrella of Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, the company is heading in the right direction.
