Oh, dear! Microsoft is nearing the finish line with Windows 10, and gearing up to launch the operating system next week. July 29 to be exact. But it seems that there is a severe little bug that needs attention.

The software titan has released several hotfixes and patches since debut of Windows 10 build 10240, believed to be the RTM version of the operating system.

But according to this report, the company is also working with Intel to fix an issue that is currently affecting battery life of some laptops running Windows 10 — this pesky little bug can potentially reduce laptop battery life by as much as 10%.

Intel confirmed this problem, saying:

Quote
“Intel and Microsoft are working to optimize drivers for battery performance on Windows 10 across Intel platforms. While we are working on technical optimizations, we have seen very minor hits to battery life but even the upper end of what we have seen is below 10 percent. Do know that we expect battery life on Windows 10 systems to be nearly the same as on Windows 8.1 systems once the final Windows 10 drivers have been updated and released.”
Wish them success.

Microsoft and Intel, of course, are not alone in working on these optimizations, as several other hardware manufacturers like Dell, HP, Acer and more are readying their new device for the highly anticipated operating system.

Same can be said of accessory makers like Logitech.
