We have a hot one! Microsoft, it is said, has settled on a release candidate for Windows 10 Mobile RTM, which could very well be build 10586 of the mobile operating system.
And could be here as early as November 12.
Previous reports on the matter hinted that the software titan was looking to launch Windows 10 Mobile sometime in December, but it now looks like the company has decided to push for an earlier release later this month.
If true, this is a big jump — a very welcome jump.
Word is that Microsoft might pull off a very interesting move next week, releasing build 10586 both on the PCs and smartphones on the same date, that being November 12. There has been some talk on a parallel release from the company these past few weeks.
And Redmond actually launched two builds on the same day for the first time, not too long ago.
So essentially, build 10586 will actually be the anticipated Fall Refresh for PCs, which has been in the news for a while now, and has been tracking for a November 10 launch on Patch Tuesday. This update brings several long waited new features and performance enhancements to the platform.
However, Microsoft is looking to release the same build to mobile devices as the RTM version.
The company wants to start sending Windows 10 Mobile build 10586 to mobile carriers this week for final testing purposes, and gear up for the final launch late next week.
That is, if everything goes according to plan.
The final release will still be a staged rollout, but there is a high chance that we’re nearing the finish line.
