Hardware and gadget makers are already prepped for January’s CES.

The Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas will cover everything from cars, to smart homes and gadgets.

PC users should keep an eye out on news in these key areas.

4K Blu-ray at CES

While many users are moving to streaming movies, the sheer bandwidth for 4K content may limit the new standard for most. So, expect Ultra HD 4K Blu-ray capable drives to be a must-have upgrade for video fans with 4K class monitors.

Not only is Ultra HD, higher resolution, but high dynamic range should add to the impact of images on the screen. See the official site for all the details.

The official Blu-ray Association standard will launch at the show, so expect plenty of compatible hardware to be catching the eye. While native 4K content is still pretty rare, expect huge remaster campaigns to get us to buy those classics all over again.

Lenovo Razer Gaming PCs

Razer and Lenovo’s partnership will bear fruit a the show with a new line up of high-specification PCs to try and crack the rich rewards of the PC gaming market.

While the pace of PC development is having a quick break, after Skylake and the latest graphics refreshes, expect plenty of new upgrades over the year and these PCs to pack in the latest hardware.

Virtual Reality

HTC is promising big news with its Vive headset, which has been delayed due to a recent breakthrough, that they will premier at CES.

Sony will be there with PlayStation VR to challenge Microsoft with HoloLens as the VR battle kicks into gear, with launches across 2016.

Expect great things from all these vendors as they try to position their hardware for maximum hype and exposure.
