Redmond rolled out a new Windows 10 Redstone preview build for Windows Insiders earlier today, but there is also something that are not enrolled in the program.

Build 14251 is what will interest those of you that want to test the latest version.

But for those that like to stay in the stable channel, the non-Insider PCs, they now have access to Windows 10 build 10586.71 in the form of a cumulative update that is now rolling out.

This one is identified as KB3124262, and as is usually the case with updates of this sort, this one is light on features. Instead, Microsoft has focused on bug fixes, stability improvements and performance enhancements with this release.

Although not available at the time of this writing, the company will most likely publish a KB page for this new update. But chances are slim that it will list too many details.

Then again, cumulative updates include all the previously released fixes for Windows 10, so if you want to bring your computer fully up to date, then this is the patch you need to download.

KB3124262 updates the Windows 10 version number to 10586.71, as noted above — an incremental release nothing quite like the jump to build 14251 that Redstone users received earlier in the day.

But hey, an update is an update, right?
