IE8 comes bundled with Windows 7, You have the ability to turn it off, BUT, cannot uninstall it.

The proposed Windows 7 E versions were approved by the EU but not put into production by Microsoft. They opted for the Browser Ballot Screen instead. So basically, just get the regular version of Windows 7 and disable IE.

When the Windows 7 - E edition was being talked about, IE8 was NOT going to be removed, it was going to be disabled. Without IE8 code left behind very little on the Internet would work properly. Most all browsers identify themselves as IE 6, 7, or 8 compatible since most all web pages are written based on IE code.

So, essentially, disable it and install Firefox ;D
