It’s alive! The Windows 10 Mobile game is about to get interesting, now that the HP Elite x3 is all but ready to be unveiled. Specifications and photos of this high-end smartphone have just been leaked.

Confirming that we have a solid shot of it being announced at MWC 2016 in just a few days.

The device has been in the news for a few months now, and although there was talk last year, rumors about it majorly picked up this year — even though nobody knew for sure whether the smartphone would be released or not.

Previous reports claimed that HP had not yet decided whether to launch this phablet or not.

Well, it looks like the Elite x3 has got the greenlight, and will possibly be announced in less than a week from now. In fact, the first pictures of the device have been leaked, showing the stylish device in action.

Not as stylish is the odd speaker grill at the bottom, but here you go:

The specifications of the HP Elite x3 have also been revealed, confirming that this flagship is a true beast.

For starters, we have the massive 5.96-inch capacitive touchscreen display with a now standard Quad HD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor that is paired with 64GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory.

Which can further be boosted up to 200GB via microSD cards.

In terms of cameras, you are looking at a 16MP shooter on the back with autofocus, LED flash and video recording, while an 8MP unit sits on the front.

No details on the battery yet, but in terms of connectivity, the phablet features a USB 3.0 Type-C port, Qi wireless charging, fingerprint reader, and support for Continuum for Phone, Iris Scanner and Windows Hello.

The phone also features an IP67 dust and water resistant body, with the STD810 military MIL-rating to make for a true outdoor workhorse.

All things considered, this will soon be the most powerful Windows 10 Mobile powered handset on the market. Hopefully, we get pricing and availability information from HP at the MWC 2016 trade fair.
