The company is still investigating, and has locked the forum thread, but not before listing some more workaround for the Anniversary Update freezing issue that users have reported.

Microsoft still maintains that this problem is not widespread, and only a small set of users are experiencing the problem that usually involves a system freeze after logging in — which essentially renders the device unresponsive.

Several users have posted the details in this thread (http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-performance/windows-10-may-freeze-after-installing-the/5a60d75d-120a-4502-873c-8bfec65c82d0?page=1&auth=1), which has now been closed, but while Redmond is yet to reach a universally stable solution, the company says that has collected log files and user reports.

Using which it aims to fix this problem once and for all.

In the meantime, in addition to a previous Safe Mode workaround (http://www.windows10newsinfo.com/smf/index.php/topic,31981.msg38841.html#msg38841), Microsoft is also endorsing a couple more solutions submitted by users:

“The community has also reported a number of their own solutions including logging into a second account (which then fixed the first one) or uninstall of an older antivirus program and then installing the latest version.”
Might be worth a try, if you are facing this freezing issue.

The 49-page thread is filled with customers who have experienced this problem, and Microsoft confirmed that this issue occurred when users install the OS on a separate SSD, with apps and data installed on another drive.

Regardless, the software titan promises an update on this soon, as early as it makes progress in resolving the issue, which hopefully, does not take much more time now. It remains one of the most widely reported installation problem with the recently released Anniversary Update.
