Turn the calendar back one year, and the Microsoft Xbox One and the Sony PlayStation 4 were among the top selling electronics during Black Friday, and this year is no different.

Xbox, they say, topped the console sales during Black Friday 2016.

The data from Adobe Digital Insights reveals that both consoles were once again among the top selling electronics products during the shopping extravaganza, the holiday weekend overall. However, the Xbox One outsold its immediate rival on the Black Friday event.

Sony struck back with PlayStation 4 leading sales on Cyber Monday, though.

And according to these numbers, it holds the overall lead as the best-selling console for the whole month of November.

But after four good months of topping the charts, Microsoft will still be very pleased with the performance of the Xbox One. This month was always going to be more difficult as Sony finally unleashed the new PlayStation 4 Pro console.

And buyers that held out for it this past couple of months finally made their purchases.

However, Microsoft has also announced several discounts on the various Xbox One S bundles that the company will likely reiterate and build up on next month in order to make the most of this lucrative holiday season.

Good going, Xbox One.

And Xbox One S.
