Another milestone achieved! Microsoft has just made Windows 10 Version 1607, also known as the Anniversary Update, the new Current Branch for Business.

The latest version of the OS has been out since August.

But while consumers have rushed to upgrade, business organizations are less keen to make the move. They prefer to wait until each new version is extensively tested to prove its reliability on systems, and this requires time.

Well, end users have seen the Anniversary Update be the Current Branch release for consumers for almost four months now.

And this has given Microsoft the opportunity to not only evaluate the real-world performance of the operating system but also eliminate bugs and other such issues.

With that done, the company can now recommend this release to corporate customers.

Which it did today, announcing version 1607 as being released to the Current Branch for Business, and being ready for deployment. The build number is 14393.447 that was actually delivered to consumer PCs earlier this month has been chosen as the new release for business customers.

Calling this an important milestone, Redmond says that this release signifies that this version has been validated not just by customers but also by OEMs and partners.

The company further says that it addressed nearly a thousand items of feedback from all types of customers, including enterprises that have performed pilot deployments.

So, here we are with the Windows 10 Anniversary Update, Version 1607, replacing Version 1511, known as the November Update that has been a CBB release since April.
