When it comes to Chinese OEMs, Chuwi is perhaps the most important partner Microsoft has in the region. And as the newly unveiled Chuwi Hi13 shows, this is a partner company that delivers.
It was established all the way back in 2004 in Shenzhen, as a global tablet started partner for Intel and Microsoft. And over the years, the company has released several Windows 8 and Windows 10 devices that have been quite successful not just in the local Chinese market, but also in other regions.
Thanks to importers that import and sell these affordable devices.
Yet, affordable devices they are.
Even this new tablet that offers a 13.5-inch screen size, and packs in the newer Intel Apollo Lake processors that were made available to hardware manufacturers in Q3 2016. This is, of course, the latest generation Atom chips Intel offers as notebook and tablet SoCs.
They feature a new x86 microarchitecture that delivers improved speed, graphics performance and video playback — all features necessary for these type of budget tablets.

As you can see, the display quite matches the resolution that available on the Surface Book, which should be good for compatibility with apps as well as providing a bigger working environment.
Chuwi has not yet shared details of pricing or availability of the device, but it has confirmed that the Hi13 supports a detachable keyboard and stylus pen like other Chuwi tablets. These will be sold separately, however.
