Invisible. Fileless. Wreaking global havoc! One or more hacking groups are targeting hundreds of organizations across the world with a new type of malware that is incredibly hard to detect.
Around 140 banks, financial institutions, telecom companies and government organizations are already affected, according to Russian security vendor Kaspersky Lab.
The firm has promised to reveal more information on this new threat as it continues to investigate, but apparently, attackers have already siphoned out money out of ATMs, along with credentials and more sensitive data.
That said, the big story here is that this new threat exclusively lives in the memory of a device, and leaves almost no trace behind.
