Windows the Creators Update rollout confirmed for April 11, Microsoft seems to be compiling new Redstone 3 builds at a faster pace than before.
Development on Redstone 2, of course has pretty much been completed, with the software titan announcing earlier today that this new version of the operating system will be delivered to Windows 10 users in stages, starting next month.
With that milestone now pretty much achieved, the company is now shifting focus to the next update.
And this means getting the Redstone 3 builds to the members of the Windows Insider Program so that they can preview this new version.
That will take a while to happen, though, but there is already some movement on that front.
As BuildFeed makes clear (http://buildfeed.net/build/c913bcda-1311-4ad9-b07d-68e2612257d7/), Windows 10 build 15163 has been compiled — making this the second Redstone 3 build that has been spotted online. This one is still part of the rs_prerelease branch, of course, and is only internally available.
But it follows the one that showed up in February.
Signaling that the Windows development team is now laying the groundwork for Redstone 3, the next wave of the updates for the Windows 10 operating system that is due to launch this fall.
Just like it happened when the Anniversary Update shipped, the Creators Update builds started making their way out for Insiders. These RS3 builds are not a priority for Redmond right now, but once full development gets underway, we are sure to get access to these new versions.
And find out what they bring.
As for the version number that Microsoft might be going for here, word is that version 1711 has been designated for Redstone 3, which the digits directly referencing to the year and month of this new version of the OS.
Things sure are heating up!
