With the Creators Update almost out the gates, focus is now shifting to Redstone 3, and the new features it brings, including Project NEON. This user interface overhaul for the operating system promises much.
And although Microsoft has dropped a bunch of hints over the past few months on what it aims to accomplish with this set of UI improvements, we still don’t have a clear idea of what it brings.
Other than the fact that Project NEON is supposed to be high on transparency, and will add new effects and animations to Windows 10.
It is perhaps this secrecy and anticipation that users across the world continue to create concepts imagining what the whole thing could look like.
Such as this one:

This new concept recently posted (http://www.reddit.com/r/Windows10/comments/6210ht/neon_facebook_messenger_uwp_concept/) envisions the Facebook Messenger app in Windows 10 done in the Project NEON flavor. High on the color blue, and featuring a solid amount of transparency, it brings a lot of eye candy to the platform.
Then again, that is supposed to be one of the goals of this new UI overhaul.
What’s interesting, however, is that this concept also hits a lot close to macOS, as have other Project NEON concepts that have made their way up. Goes without saying that Windows 10 will need to have its own identity with this, something that provides a clean look in a streamlined design language.
The good news is that we will not have to wait too long to get an idea of what exactly Redmond is planning with Project NEON.
New Redstone 3 builds are now being compiled, and we are sure to get our first taste of the improvements that are to be part of this visual overhaul with these preview builds that get release for Windows Insiders.
Any day now!
