The Quick Launch toolbar is missing in W 7
To re-enable it, do the following:
Right-click the taskbar, choose Toolbars / New Toolbar
In the folder selection dialog, enter the following string and hit OK:
%userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch
Turn off the “lock the taskbar” setting, and right-click on the divider. Make sure that “Show text” and “Show title” are disabled and the view is set to “small icons”.
Use the dividers to rearrange the toolbar ordering to choice, and then lock the taskbar again.

o.O
I have been using windows 7 for months and didn't realize this.... I use quicklaunch all day everyday... and I didn't realize that I wasn't actually using it???
If you simply drag your shortcuts down to the bar at the bottom it works very similar to a quicklaunch bar only without as much function with right clicking. Shows nice big buttons. Also it does not take up any real estate down there. Thanks for the tip, I will have to see what I have been missing with the quicklaunch bar :P
