As a Nexus One owner, I can commiserate with those of you that bought a Droid. It's infuriating to buy an awesome new phone and then hear that people in other countries are getting extra features for the same price. Multitouch support is a tetchy issue for all of us in the Android community. Google seems to have some bizarre grudge against it. Thankfully, Motorola does not. (Laptop Mag via Gizmodo)

They've promised to bring multitouch support to the majority of their devices. CEO Sanjay Jha didn't specifically mention the Droid, but I can't imagine any situation in which Moto rolls out multitouch firmware updates and doesn't include the Droid. Multitouch functionality makes any smartphone a much more attractive purchasing proposition.

As it currently stands, I'm going to take the road less travelled with my Nexus One and root it to get multitouch. Pinch-zooming should be a constitutional right, dammit!
