Recently, I’ve been checking out the different ways to customize my Windows 7 logon screen. There’s this manual registry hack as well as this newer downloadable software program that does the hacking for you. But the only thing that was still making customization a bit of a pain was having to resize the wallpaper itself. You see, the Windows 7 logon screen requires the background to be less than 256K in order for it to work. Luckily for me, David Grossman has put together a useful resource that saves me the trouble of cropping and compressing wallpaper myself. Here on his SkyDrive are tons of images – several of them from the Windows 7 wallpapers themselves – that are already compressed and ready to go. Looks like I’m going to be updating my logon screen background a lot now. Thanks, David!
