Title: Major Flaw in Windows 7 Setup
Post by: phat vapor on April 20, 2009, 03:20:42 PM
there is a major flaw with windows 7 setup if u have a sata hard drive and an ide hard drive. windows will automaticly install the boot manager on the ide drive which is good if u want windows on the ide hard rive but if u want it on the sata drive u will not be able to load windows it won't even see it. the only way around this is to unplug the ide drive while setting windows up. i don't know how microsoft missed this, but they really need to sort this out before the final release

ide drives are becoming outdated and will be like a floppy soon forgotten about.
im sure they missed it because new computers will have sata or ssd installed because of speed.
yes they should be thinking about people upgrading and all types of drives.
now with my bios it places the ide drives before the sata drives. when looking at my computer it shows my ide dvd burner as a e and my sata burner as f.
