We all know that Windows 7 comes with a modified taskbar with some neat effects, but the annoying thing for some people is that there is no quick launch bar included. I'm going to show you how to bring the quick launch bar back in a couple of easy steps.
But first, let me quickly show you how to revert to the the old XP/Vista taskbar (just optional): Right-click on any open space on your taskbar, choose "Properties", go to the "Taskbar buttons:" drop-down menu and select "Never combine", then select "Use small icons".
Now that you have the old XP/Vista style taskbar lets continue with our quick launch toolbar:
1. First of all you'll need to unlock the taskbar and then right-click on any open area of it, and select "Toolbars" > "New Toolbar..." from the menu.
2. Go to your location bar and paste the following path in it: %appdata%\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch. Now click the "Select Folder" button.

3. The quick launch toolbar should now appear to the right of your taskbar. Click the dotted lines and drag the toolbar all the way to the left.
4. If you want to change the quick launch bar to icons only, you'll have to right-click the dotted lines and uncheck the "Show Text" and "Show Title" options from the menu.
