I have just finished some testing on NEW OUT OF THE BOX, Instant Failure to UPDATE... WOW, what is wrong here.
Several Acer -GateWay-Toshiba-Dell & 1 Hewlett Packard Laptops and NoteBooks and NetBooks (not sure what the real difference is. I suppose the Display Size is the only difference I could tell.)
After #1 Notebook failed to BOOT and tested the Memory Module.... I use a module from another #2 Notebook to test.... #1 Fired - booted all seemed well.
Ordered a NEW MEMORY MODULE - customer wanted instead of taking back for a Replacement.... 2.5 hrs drive up and 2.5 hrs back. plus Gas, meals etec etc etc.
Replace with a NEW Memory Module.... Instantly the Customer says WOW, Thanks it no longer Freezes or has problems with M$ Updates, it works PERFECT.................
A.) I check and Yes the old Memory Module was STAMPED SAMSUNG.... DDR2. so I rounded up all the Problem NoteBooks and swapped the New NON SAMSUNG Memory Module and instantly went to M$ for Updates.... some had the need for 7 or 8 up to 42....#2, #3, #4, #5 failed. #2 with swapped Memory Module - performed 100%.
So continued to swap Memory from #1 to #3, #4, #5 and every one worked Perfect..... I have now swapped Memory with NEW NON-Samsung Memory and every one has had NO PROBLEMS FOR 3 DAYS.....
Samsung Memory Modules all in the DDR2 range Failed, different Name Modules were used to replace.... all 5 Systems now function 100%....
Yet I can put any of the Samsung Memory Modules in any of the sets and run Memory tests all day.... and nothing indicates BAD....but when you work them in a normal method THEY FAIL.
