Yes, it has happened yet again. Another vulnerability has hit our online world. This time we will explore the Internet Explorer vulnerability. This vulnerability pertains to a data binding memory corruption vulnerability. This vulnerability is actually being actively exploited at this current moment.

This particular vulnerability runs the risk of being exploited by malicious individuals with the intentions of compromising the systems of chosen users. If malicious individuals are successful with regard to exploiting this vulnerability in Internet Explorer, then the possibilities are high that arbitrary code will be executed.

The vulnerability actively exists in Internet Explorer 7, on a fully patched Windows XP SP3, in Internet Explorer 6, on a fully patched Windows XP SP2 and has also been reported in none other than Internet Explorer 5.01 SP4.

Some of the file components of Windows XP may include but are not limited to the following: wmv8dmod.dll, oakley.dll, hpc4500u.dll as well as epnhtx05.dll. It is alarming to know that the possibilities are very high that other versions may also be actively affected at this point in time.

This Internet Explorer vulnerability has been rated as extremely critical. The specific impact of this vulnerability pertains to individuals gaining access to targeted systems. Remote attackers are able to execute arbitrary code with the use of a manipulated XML document, which contains specific nested SPAN elements.

Does it exist in IE8 on a fully patched XP SP3?
