If you haven’t already seen this post over on Lifehacker, it’s well worth a look. In it, Gina Trapani does a feature-by-feature comparison of the new Windows OS, Windows 7, and Mac OS X, aka “Leopard.” The results may surprise you. Although Windows 7 didn’t beat Mac across the board, they took away more victories than Mac did. For example, the Windows Taskbar beat the Mac Dock, the Windows System Tray beat the Mac Menu Bar, and Aero Peek beat – well what is there to beat?, asks the post. Quick Look? Stacks? Anyway, Aero Peek won that category too.
Finder vs. Windows Explorer was a draw. OS X only won in two categories: Time Machine beat Windows Backup and Quick Look beat Windows File Preview. (Of course, you can always grab a Deviantart skin to get something like Quick Look in Windows.) Overall, not a bad showing for the new OS, don’t you think?
