Samsung Galaxy S2 a big hit, where’s the USA version?
« on: June 12, 2011, 03:51:05 PM »
Samsung Galaxy S2 a best-seller in South Korea. Where’s the United States version?

Phandroid is reporting that Samsung already sold at least 1 million Galaxy S2 in South Korea, the company’s home country. That’s a big achievement knowing that iPhone and other smartphones are also popular in that region. Samsung Galaxy S2 is considered as the company’s best smartphone for this year.

Obviously, the Android-powered device with the latest version of the operating system packed with the faster 1.2 GHz dual-core Exynos processor is also popular not only in Samsung’s home country, but also in other parts of the world like United Kingdom, and other parts of Europe, and even in USA (according to our stats) which is still a Galaxy S2-less country.

According to multiple reports, Samsung might launch the Galaxy S II in United States via three carriers, Verizon Wireless, Sprint and AT&T, and will be “repacked” to use three different names to distinguish the carrier. Latest rumor about the Galaxy S2 USA version is about the “Verizon Wireless model,” after a spokeswoman was misquoted saying that there’s a Samsung superphone coming next month.

Apparently, Samsung Galaxy S2′s biggest rival from HTC is already scheduled to arrive here in the States this month courtesy of T-Mobile, the HTC Sensation 4G, aside from the carrier’s version of the LG Optimus 2X, the T-Mobile G2x manufactured by LG, powered by NVIDIA Tegra 2, and is scheduled to get a Gingerbread update by Summer.
