MSI introduces gaming ultraportable with “3K” display
« on: March 09, 2014, 05:36:46 PM »
MSI is showing off a thin and light laptop with  an Intel Haswell processor, next-gen NVIDIA graphics, and a 15.6 pixel display with support for resolutions up to 2880 x 1620 pixels.

That’s not a resolution you see often, and according to Engadget, it’s something MSI is calling “3K.” But it should help show off just what NVIDIA’s new laptop graphics chips can do — cranking out high quality 3D graphics to that many pixels can’t be easy.

The notebook is called the MSI GS60 Ghost Pro, and it measures less than 0.8 inches thick and it weighs about 4.4 pounds. It supports up to an Intel Core i7 processor and supports dual solid state drives and a hard drive bay for large amounts of speedy, quiet storage space.

Other features includes 802.11ac WiFi, 16GB of RAM, and a Blu-ray writer.

The MSI GS60 line includes a number of different models with different graphics cards and different screen resolutions (starting at full HD). The new model with a 3K display and next-gen NVIDIA graphics is expected to launch in April, when it’ll sell for over $2000.

Some models are already available for pre-order.
