Here’s your obligatory look at the new icon designs included in a new Windows 10 build. This time we have these from a leaked version of the preview, build 10036.
This flavor of the new OS
leaked last week.
And it shipped with a bunch of fresh new icons — all modern, all minimalistic, carrying on with the design philosophy that Microsoft has established for its operating platform. Oh, and more than that, all come with that flat look.
This new set has been posted here, in all its visual glory:
For many these are rather plain and boring.
Users have been vocal about this, asking for a return to the fuller, richer and more rounded set of icons that were part of Windows versions past, like Windows 7, Vista and even XP.
But others seem to like it.
And they kind of grow on your once you see the full set.
It is quite clear that Microsoft is set on a direction here when it comes to the design. And although the company has hinted that these may not the icons that are included in the final build of Windows 10, hard to see the company changing course.
