We have our first screenshots of a landmark Windows 10 version. Windows 10 build 10102 provides a peek at the improvements included in this new 10xxx range of builds.
Improvements, aplenty, like a closer integration of Cortana in the desktop.
As well as a new 3D effect for the Live Tiles.
These come from a trusty source in China, ITHome, and
two galleries are available.
For starters we have a tighter integration of the digital voice assistant in the taskbar. There’s even a hamburger button that reveals a column of settings for Cortana, which can be accessed on the left side:
Cortana may not be much different from previous builds (say the latest build 10061), but it certainly seems to be coming together well enough here.
Secondly, and perhaps more interestingly, Microsoft has included a new effect for updated Live Tiles. The animation can be seen below:
Tiles now flip with a 3D effect to show updated information. Slick.
Not much is known about this build right now, other than the fact that Microsoft might show this, or an updated version at their BUILD 2015 developer conference. The event kicks off tomorrow, and chances are that we probably will get a version in this range early next month.
