Here’s Microsoft Official Windows 10 Mascot For Japan
« on: May 28, 2015, 04:04:01 AM »
Not the first time the company has tried this, but we now have our first look at the official Windows 10 mascot that Microsoft will be using for promotion in Japan.

Redmond, of course, employed a similar strategy for marketing Windows 8.

During the launch of that operating system, some three years ago, the company actually had two mascots. But this time, we only have one. And as reported, the software titan is now looking for a name for this anime mascot.

A special contest will debut on June 19, allowing users a chance to submit their proposals.

But first, here’s a closer look at the Windows 10 mascot:

And like all good characters, she even has a story.

Microsoft says that she is a 17-year-old schoolgirl coming from the future to work in the IT industry in Tokyo. On what, you ask? Well, Windows 10, of course, what else? The girl is set to be voiced by Ai Nonaka, a popular voice actress.

Known for her roles in successful creations like Gintama, Doraemon, and Clannad.

Japanese culture, people, but surely you know of Doraemon, right?

The country has a completely different marketing culture, and special considerations have to be taken into account when launching major products like this. Microsoft is simply keeping a good trend running, with this.

We’re sure to hear more about this Windows 10 mascot once she officially has a name.
