Windows 10 Edge Browser Extension Page Goes Live
« on: March 15, 2016, 07:09:53 PM »
Solid enough proof that the company is getting ready to debut extensions for Insiders, with people in on the action expecting this to happen as soon as this week.

That said, full support for extensions is likely to be offered in June for all users, starting with the Redstone update for the operating system that is on track to launch later this year. Expect more details to be provided at the BUILD 2016 developer conference towards the end of the month.[/img][/float]And then gets taken down. Microsoft published the Windows 10 Edge browser extension page earlier today, most likely to test things out, but the company quickly removed the website.

After users had started noticing it.

As the screenshot below shows, this site will most likely serve as the destination for add-ons for the new web browser, providing users with all the necessary information that they need to download and install these extensions.

Takes one back to December last year when a similar website popped up, again, accidentally.

Anyway, three different extensions were linked to on this one, these being Microsoft Translator, Reddit Enhancement Suite and Mouse Gestures, with redirects to the store to download them.

Here is the page:

And this is the link which was leaked earlier today.

This is what Microsoft said of extensions:

Quote
“Personalize and add new features to Microsoft Edge with extensions. Starting with build XXX for the Windows 10 Insider Preview, a selection of extensions is now available for Microsoft Edge.

When fully released to mainstream builds of Windows 10, extensions will be available via the Windows Store. Until that time, you can help us test extensions by downloading and adding them to Microsoft Edge using the steps shown below.”
