Microsoft Outlines Gamescom 2016 Plans
« on: July 14, 2016, 04:35:30 PM »
Gamescom is the biggest video gaming event on the planet. It has a larger exhibition space, brings in more visitors, and upcoming games are at a further development stage.

Which means more companies can showcase their titles — videos and demos.

This year’s edition, Gamescom 2016, is set to be held in just five weeks from now, in Cologne Germany, and it will be the next stop for the Xbox roadshow.

Naturally, Microsoft is aware of the proceedings, and the General manager for Xbox Games Marketing Aaron Greenberg shared what the company is planning for the event.

In a rather surprising development, after the company’s E3 success this year at least, he explained that the Xbox team will do things differently this year.

There will not be a media briefing, so to say.

Instead, the software titan is planning a new and more intimate Xbox FanFest experience for fans, and of course, attendees can look forward to playing the upcoming gaming lineup that Microsoft has in store for launch in the coming months.

As explained:

Quote
“Xbox will give our fans the opportunity to get hands-on with the most anticipated titles for 2016 and 2017, across Xbox and Windows 10.  From our stellar lineup of blockbusters, including Gears of War 4, Forza Horizon 3, Halo Wars 2, ReCore and Sea of Thieves, to a host of ID@Xbox titles including We Happy Few, Everspace and Cuphead, we can’t wait for our fans to play.”
The gathering kicks off Wednesday, August 17 with a press/trade only day. Everyone else will get a chance to attend the show starting Thursday, August 18, and it will run until August 21.

Hopefully, fans get a chance to take a look at the new Xbox One S.

This new console is expected to start shipping on August 31.
