Xbox One Holiday Update Rollout Begins, Here’s What New
« on: November 11, 2016, 04:29:18 AM »
Microsoft has started the rollout of Xbox One Holiday Update for the Xbox One console, as well as the Xbox app on multiple platforms, including Windows 10, iOS and Android.

A whole range of welcome features are included in this anticipated software release.

These include options like clubs, Looking For Group, Gamerscore leaderboard, group messaging, achievement rarity, and more.

Scott Henson, Xbox Partner Group Program Manager, announced this news on the official Xbox Wire, giving a brief rundown of what the Holiday Update brings to Xbox One users. But before we get to that, here is a video introduction and walkthrough of this new update:

As for Microsoft’s approach for this refresh, Henson says:

Quote
“With this holiday update, Xbox Live becomes even more social as we unite gamers across devices, giving you access to more people to play with that share your interests and more choice in how you play. The update also builds upon our vision to foster a welcoming experience on Xbox Live where everyone is included, respected, and supported. The updates start to hit Xbox One consoles and the Xbox app starting today.”
Impressive.

The top features are, obviously, clubs on Xbox Live, which are essentially groups that are created and managed by gamers that can not only help them meet new people, but also grow communities. Emoji support is also in, as is group messaging on the service and Gamerscore leaderboards.
