Windows 10 Redstone 2 Build 15002 Leaked
« on: January 07, 2017, 10:13:29 PM »
Someone somewhere is tactically leaking these Redstone 2 builds! Windows 10 build 15002 is the latest such version to be leaked, soon after we got a confirmation from the company of a bug.

An update bug that prevented the launch of a new preview build this week.

Well, that someone is none other than regular Microsoft watcher WalkingCat, who spotted build 15002 on Microsoft servers. The company moved in fast to remove the download links, but some people already managed to get their hands on the file.

The WIM file, that is, and have made it available for download elsewhere.

But this very much is the version that Microsoft was planning to officially release this week, before the company was forced to delay and cancel the launch.

As usual, we will not be providing download links for this build, but finding it is easy enough — if you know where to look. In fact, expect the links for this build to become more widely available in the next few hours, as more people get their hands on it.

Just a word of caution, though.

Installing builds that are not directly released by Redmond does come with inherent risks, even if they are built directly from the WIM files that Microsoft releases.

And besides, since this is just a few notches above the previous version that leaked in late December, build 14997, it probably does not bring as many new options as that one. If anything, these features should be out there in the open for testing for everyone next week.

Once the regularly scheduled service resumes.

To get Windows 10 Build 15002 installed, follow this simple instruction.

Download the wim file from here:
http://mega.nz/#!AtMzybxA!RvsDLb4sz-LL8ALwXLmnwqeBY04lvUbeamSTIY7Zvlo

Download any Windows 10 ISO

Open that ISO File with a tool like UltraISO

Replace the ‘install.wim’ in the ‘sources’ folder with the one you downloaded.

Boot the ISO in a Generation 2 Hyper-V virtual machine.

Install Windows like you normally would.

Due to base image limitation, you’ll be unable to log in normally and stuck at the login screen. Here is a workaround.

After restarting, boot into the ISO again

Press Shift + F10 at the install screen

Type notepad

Click file

Click open

Navigate to ‘C:\Windows\system32′

Delete the utilman.exe

Copy the cmd.exe and rename it to utilman.exe

Reboot into Windows.

Now, after you booted into Windows, you’ll have to do the following:

Click on the utilities button in the lower right corner

The cmd will now launch

Type ‘net user Administrator abc’

Type ‘net user Administrator /active:YES’

Now enter ‘abc’ as password

You're done!
