Microsoft Confirms Windows 10 Creators Update Launch Date
« on: March 29, 2017, 07:13:03 PM »
And it is April 11, folks. No surprises whatsoever! After months of speculation, Microsoft today revealed the Windows 10 Creators Update launch date, affirming that the update will begin rolling out next month.

PCs will get access to this new version first, and it will then head to smartphones and other devices.

The full details are provided here in this blog post on the official Windows Blog, which also goes over many of the features that are part of this latest version of the operating system — almost all of which Windows Insiders have helped develop.

This video does a quick job recapping some of these new additions:

Also known by its codename Redstone 2, this big update for the OS was originally announced in October, and over the months we have been treated with an array of early, preview builds.

With this announcement, we also have the confirmation that the final RTM version will be build 15063.

The ISOs for this version appeared on Microsoft servers earlier this week, and the updated Windows 10 Update Assistant also briefly allowed users to upgrade their systems early. However, Redmond has now blocked access to installation via both these methods.

As in, these are not available directly from the company.

Bummer!

The good thing, though, is that April 11 is just a couple of weeks away, and everyone will start getting access to all these welcome new features part of the Creators Update by the middle of next month.
