It's no secret that the Windows 10 October 2018 Update, or version 1809, has had its share of problems.

After skipping over the Release Preview ring of Insider testing, Microsoft released the update on October 2. Four days later, it was removed from Windows Update due to 'quality issues', mainly that some users' files were being deleted upon upgrading.

Later, it was discovered that when extracting a ZIP file on top of existing files, there was no dialog box to ask if you want to overwrite the files, and the operation failed. Under some circumstances, this could also cause data loss.

After over a month, Microsoft finally re-released Windows 10 version 1809 this week, but it would seem that there are still some quality issues. Microsoft has updated its Windows 10 Update history page for version 1809 to outline a variety of issues that affect not only Windows 10 client, but Server as well.

Here's what's still broken:

All of the issues list November 14 as the date, and the versions of Windows affected are 1809, Server 1809, and Server 2019.

It might make sense for some users to hold off on the Windows 10 October 2018 Update for now. As can often be the case with new feature updates, there are some bugs to iron out, and those will be fixed with cumulative updates in the coming months.
